In this position I am leading the implementation of all community care and treatment activities.
Also provide direct supportive supervision, mentorship, and support to the community teams to ensure delivery of quality assured community, clinical interventions.
I also serve as a primary point of contact for all community and regional stakeholders.
Managed the day-to-day operations of an HIV care and treatment program, ensuring patient access to antiretroviral therapy (ART) and other essential services as early as possible.
Provided mentorship to linkage support officers to be able to provide counselling to People living with HIV who are delaying ART initiation.
Collaboration with clinical social worker also improved clients’ health and eager to continue with their life for longlife-ART therapy.
This collaboration with the clinical social worker had an impact to the Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) who had social issues beyond clinical services.
These AGYW would be identified by me as a nurse during outreaches where clinical services were provided, counselling would be provided and relevant referrals were conducted to relevant institutions.
Regional Nurse Advisor
Georgetown Global Health
02.2021 - 09.2022
The overall role in this position was to enhance capacity of nursing care providers and other professionals working at facility level to improve care processes and systems for effective delivery of comprehensive HIV services including strengthening care continuity systems essential for patient retention in care.
In one of the health facilities where I was providing technical support during viremia clinics, there was a client who had a high viral load due to different factors.
The client was engaged and a plan was developed which really helped the client and was eventually virally suppressed.
Working closely with facility-based mental health nurse and the social workers I gained confidence in managing people with anxiety and depression which might be caused by poor family support and failing to handle difficult situations such as being identified living with HIV.
